I reached the deadline a day early!
Here is my very cute certificate. I shall have to print it out and admire it on the noticeboard above my desk.
I’ve taken the day off today to watch a few live masterclasses with the publisher Canelo via Iaminprint. It was an informative morning, but now I must get back to work.
My next task is to submit book 1 in The Mermaid Hotel Series to publishers. I have my short list and will hopefully work through it this afternoon.
Then, on my long weekend away I will be picking up where I left on on book 3 and will hopefully get close to completing the first draft. It’s exciting to get it down on the computer where the real editing and shaping can begin.
Roll on 2024 – The year of The Mermaid Hotel Series!
How did you get on with the challenge?
It’s not all about hitting the big numbers, but about giving yourself permission to write. I wish we could do that every month.
Until next time…

Congratulations on the win! I didn’t reach my goal this time but I added to my word count on a project I’ve been stuck on for awhile so I’ll take it haha.

Thanks Jenn. It’s always good to build on the word count, you’ll get there!

Congratulations for last month. I didn’t know you get certificate at the end of it, let alone one so cute! 🙂 Congratulations on writing book 3, wow, I didn’t know you were so far ahead. All the best for book one, wishing you all the luck for going the publisher route. You should definitely mention the competition runner up win with Headline backing when you submit to publishers/agents, by the way, and the fact you’re also published already in another country by a big name publisher, even if it isn’t the same genre. I’m so sorry I missed so many of your blogs, I’ll visit more often from now on. ❤

Thanks Kitty. I will mention the competition win and hope someone picks up the series in 2024.
I haven’t been blogging much this year and I haven’t been on social media much either. Hopefully next year I’ll have more time to catch up with things.
