Painshill is quite near to me, so I really must visit. It looks stunning, photos are good too…

It is stunning, and there’s plenty to explore there. It’s a lovely place to spend a summer’s day if you get the chance.

Were those erected just for the park? That’s pretty cool. The first reminded me of Rapunzel’s tower, but my favorite is the enchanted waterwheel 🙂

I’d hadn’t thought of them that way before, very good for the imagination.
I actually looked up Painshill Park. Its an 18th century landscape garden created by Honourable Charles Hamilton between 1738-1773.
There are lots of interesting buildings, bridges and a grotto to explore. Lots of fun, I really want to go back there again now!

I had no idea it was so old. That’s even better. It looks well cared for too.

Yes, apparently there’s been lots of restoration work there over the years and it even won a rare Europa Nostra medal for it in 1998 (just got that info off the website).
