Silent Sea Chronicles Publication week wrap up #newrelease #fantasy #boxset

It’s been a week since I released the box set of my Silent Sea Chronicles trilogy. A week of watching the public snap it up at the bargain price of 99p. I’ve sold 241 copies in just 7 days so I’m really pleased with that number and hopefully these sales will lead to some reviews.

I think I would need to sell that many a day to get anywhere in the Amazon rankings, but it’s still amazing and it has kept me going while I struggle through a bad cold that’s completely wiped me out.

The sale runs until tomorrow, so if you haven’t picked it up you’ll have to be quick. Amazon link.

I wanted to thank all the wonderful bloggers who have been helping share the news over the last week and whose posts I know have led to sales.  I thought it would be great to share links to their posts and maybe you can find some new bloggers and reviewers to follow.

Also a quick thanks to those who have been sharing the tweets about the release. I appreciate each and every bit of help from you all.

Here’s the posts I’m excited to highlight, many of which have links to their reviews of my books.

The Strawberry Post

‘Today there is a special announcement on my blog, an author interview and a bit of a promo post (which I’m volunteering to do), about a book series I’m already excitedly reading and would love to share with everyone.  The Silent Sea Chronicles is a trilogy of fantasy books from author Suzanne Rogerson.  I’ve so far read the first two books in the series and they have been amazing (links to my reviews below) and I’m sure the third book will be equally brilliant wrapping up what is an amazing, emotional and epic fantasy tale…’

Bound to writing

‘Happy Release Day to the Silent Sea Chronicles Box set by Suzanne Rogerson! It’s with a great honor, that I’m able to share with everyone the completed fantasy box set…’

A line from a book

‘Good new everybody! Suzanne Rogerson’s Silent Sea Chronicles is now a 3 book boxed set. I have had the privilege so far of reading and reviewing the first 2 books. “The Lost Sentinel” and .“The Sentinel’s Reign” (click links for my reviews). I’m looking forward to reading the third book very soon.’

Maxine’s Obsessions

A wonderful fantasy, full of magic, set in a beautiful world. My review for book one, The Lost Sentinel, can be found HERE.

Quote taken from review of book 3 – ‘I love this series, and I’m sad to see it end. I took longer to read this one, because I wasn’t ready to leave this world or these characters. I love Suzanne Rogerson’s writing. I can’t wait to read more from her. I highly recommend this series! You won’t want to miss it!’

BooksfromDusktilDawn

‘I am delighted to let you know that SILENT SEA CHRONICLES BOX SET by Suzanne Rogerson is NOW available for purchase at an incredible introductory price of only 99p worldwide on Amazon kindle for I whole week. This is an awesome bargain!!!!!!’ (previously reviewed all three books.)

Yes more Blogs

Quote from book 3 review – ‘WOW!! Unbelievable. Amazing. Brilliant. Wonderful. Beautiful. Just a few words to describe not just this book but the whole trilogy has been an undeniably amazing read. I read all three books one after the other. I usually have a break between trilogy books but I couldn’t put these books down…’

Odd Socks and Lollipops

‘…Three amazing books filled with magic for 99p! I loved reading this trilogy and I would definitely recommend for fantasy fans…’

Just Books

Review from book 1 – ‘I loved this character-based fantasy…Suzanne Rogerson has created a wonderful world, and thankfully I was able to dive straight into the second book of the series.’

Kim’s Process

Previously reviewed book 1 – ‘The detail in the writing was also strong and descriptive.  I found myself in tears over the death of a character that was never even introduced just because the funeral was so emotional… a book I would highly recommend to other writers who are struggling with their descriptions.’

Mai’s Musings

‘I have exciting news for those of you who haven’t picked up your copies of the Silent Seas Chronicles by Suzanne Rogerson! The box set containing all three books is released today, and for a limited time will be at the amazing price of 99p/99c. Honestly, this offer is just too good to miss.’ (reviewed the trilogy)

Silent Sea Chronicles Box Set – 1 week to go! #fantasy #sff http://mybook.to/sscboxset

The Silent Sea Chronicles box set will be published on 4th October.

A few years ago having a finished trilogy was just a fanciful dream and I doubted my ability to complete such a huge project. According to Amazon the three books total 1396 pages! And for a short time you can get all that for just 99p worldwide. Pre-order it here.

But that is not the purpose of this post today. Today I want to get a few opinions on the blurb as I don’t want years of work to be let down by an inferior blurb.

Here is the finished blurb as of 30/09/19…

Tei has magic in a world where people like her are persecuted and forced into exile. Whilst fleeing their home, her father is attacked and his deathbed confession reveals a dangerous secret that will change her life forever.

Tei’s homeland, the magical island of Kalaya, is dying and without a Sentinel to restore the magic, it’s only a matter of time before all life is wiped out.

Praise for the Silent Sea Chronicles…

This is a story about war, magic, and destiny, which you cannot miss. Following the characters during their journeys has been incredible… (Goodreads) Sofia – A book. A thought.

Love this series!!…The Sentinel’s Alliance is an epic conclusion to a fantastic series. (Amazon) Jessica Belmont

I don’t want this series to end! (Amazon) Yvonne

I have really enjoyed this series and strongly recommend it to those that enjoy fantasy stories… I can’t wait to read more from Suzanne Rogerson. (Goodreads) Jessica Bronder

What an epic journey this trilogy has been…There are some terrific battle scenes, with massive shocks, and mouth dropping moments that I just hadn’t seen coming, all delivered with Rogerson perfection. (Amazon top 1000 reviewer. Vine Voice) Susan Hampson

(The Sentinel’s Alliance) This has been a fantastic finale to the trilogy, it’s had everything that made the first two books to good and then some. All of Suzanne’s brilliant world building skills are still shining through… (Goodreads) KT Robson

Rogerson has managed to craft together a fantasy trilogy that is simultaneously complex and quick. So many layers and twists are woven throughout the books and yet it never feels too heavy, the pace moves at a determined clip and action holds one’s attention captive. (Amazon) Angela – Pooled Ink Reviews

Fabulous Saga… it’s well written and utterly magical! (Amazon) Shelley Clarke

“The Sentinel’s Alliance” – The story is skillfully elaborated, comprises interesting turns, and has a great flow. Suzanne Rogerson introduces each character with finesse… Highly recommended. (Goodreads) Karen

Silent Sea Chronicles: Cover reveal, Release date and Request for help

Two weeks ago I asked for your help choosing the cover of the box set for Silent Sea Chronicles trilogy.

Thanks for the votes and comments. One comment in particular made me look at the project in a different light so I went with…

Silent Sea Chronicles Box Set complete display.jpg

I went against what my heart wanted and chose with my head, going with the blue theme to symbolise the sea. I think it looks brilliant and I’m really happy with the job The Cover Collection have done on this and all my covers.

The release date is 4th October 2019 and here is the universal pre-order link.

The best news is, I’m selling the box set for a special price of 99p/99c for limited time only.

Here’s the working blurb. It’s short and to the point, plus I’m using my readers quotes, so post those reviews on Goodreads and Amazon and I’ll add a snippet of it to the sales page!

This fantasy series is set within the magical islands of the Silent Sea and beyond.

Follow Tei’s journey as she attempts to save the dying island of Kalaya and restore its magic by finding the lost sentinel. She must prevent a civil war from destroying the Kalayan people and make alliances with other islands in order to stop the Elkenan invaders before their murderous quest to destroy all magic succeeds. Will Tei and her friends prevail? Buy the whole trilogy now to find out.

This is an epic fantasy adventure with friendship, love and sacrifice at its heart.

Praise for the Silent Sea Chronicles…

All of Suzannes brilliant world building skills are still shining through… I have loved watching the characters grow and develop throughout this trilogy, and it was great seeing them band together for the final instalment.

Angela – Pooled Ink Reviews – Rogerson has managed to craft together a fantasy trilogy that is simultaneously complex and quick. So many layers and twists are woven throughout the books and yet it never feels too heavy, the pace moves at a determined clip and action holds one’s attention captive.

Shelley Clarke (Amazon) – Fabulous Saga… Phewee, just finished Book Three, I read all three books one after the other and now I’m at a loss. I hope Suzanne writes more about this world and its characters, it’s well written and utterly magical!

Silent Sea Chronicles Box Set - 1600 x 2400 for amazon

Silent Sea Chronicles news and narrator needed for #fantasy #ya #audiobook

Now that my trilogy is complete and published I’ve been looking into the options I have available for Silent Sea Chronicles. My plans are to release a box set in October and to begin the production of the first audio book.

I ran a recent poll regarding the cover options available for the box set, thanks to those who voted and commented. I have now made my decision and look forward to revealing the cover to you very soon.

I have also begun the audition process for book 1 The Lost Sentinel through ACX, though I would like the chosen narrator to produce the whole Silent Sea Chronicles trilogy.

I have two issues to decide upon before work can start.

Issue number one – Gender of narrator. The lead character is a young woman, but there are also two male main characters as well as numerous important male and female characters ranging from the very young to the old. On balance I feel a female narrator would be more suited to this but I’m asking for auditions from both and will see how that goes.

Issue number two – Age of the narrator. As this is more a YA trilogy, should I be looking for a younger voice actor? It’s not something I’ve considered before when I’ve listened to audiobooks so should I be worrying about it now? I haven’t listened to YA fantasy in audio so I’ve been listening to samples and am still researching what other authors have opted for.

Maybe you would like to have your say on your ideal narrator. If so please vote in the poll or comment in the post. I’m especially looking for comments from those who have read the series to see who they imagine would put voice Tei, Brogan, Farrell, Callisa etc. Even if you haven’t read the books, please vote. I appreciate all feedback.

If you are a narrator and interested in auditioning, please follow this link to ACX for more information.

Here’s a quick reminder of The Lost Sentinel – The magical island of Kalaya is dying along with its Sentinel. With the Kalayan people turning their back on magic, can Tei help the exiles find their new Sentinel before it’s too late?

THE LOST SENTINEL COVER

Finally, I’m looking to run a short promo when the box set is available, so if any bloggers are interested in running a feature on release day please let me know. I will blog about that again when I have a release date but it’s never too early to start planning!

Thanks for reading.

I need your help! Vote for Silent Sea Chronicles box set cover #fantasy #trilogy

I am about to prepare the box set for my Silent Sea Chronicles trilogy but one major factor is holding me back. What should I use for the cover image?

I would love some feedback from you all so please vote on the poll below to show which cover you would recommend using on the box set image.

Here are the options:

I have my favourite, but what’s yours?

The Sentinel’s Alliance is 1 month old! #fantasy #bookreview excerpts

The month since The Sentinel’s Alliance was released has been a hectic one.

I’ve thrown myself into the task of finding my audience in the local community with things like a market stall, a pop up craft shop in my local shopping centre, attending a WI meeting with a view to doing a talk for a local group in the coming months and I’ve also met up with a group of local business women who help and support each other.

I’m hoping to be interviewed on local radio and am still trying to get my books into the local libraries. I’ve also signed up to be a part of Hastings Litfest on 31st August where I’ll have my own book stall. I’m looking forward to being in the birthplace of my hero and writing legend David Gemmell. Let’s hope the people of Hastings are up for some new fantasy blood!

I’ve had lots of reviewers and bloggers supporting my trilogy and posting their thoughts this past month. I can’t tell you how nerve-wracking it was to publish the last book in the trilogy. The fear that I had got something wrong has been blown away by their wonderful reviews. I shared a few snippets in this publication day push wrap up post, and today I thought why not celebrate the publication month by sharing a few more.

Angela – Pooled Ink ReviewsThe Sentinel’s Alliance is a thrilling conclusion to this unique trilogy of fantasy, magic, destiny, secrecy, and war. Characters come and characters go all while battle is waged for the future of magic in the isles of the Silent Sea. Exciting, determined, and satisfying, this series is one any fantasy reader might enjoy.’

Karen – My train of thought ‘I was drawn into the story right away – very close to Tei, Brogan, and some wonderful allies, highly appreciating their integrity. As I assumed after reading the first book, I got closer to Tei in the second instalment because she has gained a little more maturity; this third instalment turned her into a friend. I could easily envision the characters and locations. I had a great time reading “The Sentinel’s Alliance”. It is a very enjoyable read; a more than worthy completion of the ‘Silent Sea Chronicles’ trilogy.’

Sofii – A Book. A ThoughtIn this third book, we can appreciate more the alliances that have been forged during the previous books, in addition, there are many more characters, some new one and some who return to make our hearts happy. I think that Tei, Brogan, and Farrell are all characters that, although they’re very different from each other, achieved great growth and seeing how each one fights against their own demons while trying to fight for a common good, is sensational. I also enjoyed the dynamics and relationships between them, it was very entertaining to read.’

book pic pb&ebook

Great quotes aren’t they!

I’d love for the series to get some more exposure and I’d love to see some more reviews going up so other readers can see the series is worth their time. Are you up to the challenge?

Check out the Silent Sea Chronicles on Amazon and Goodreads.

Now I must get back to my holiday in the beautiful Shropshire countryside.

Wrap up post Pt 3 of The Sentinel’s Alliance Publication day #bookreviews #fantasy #trilogy

This is my last wrap up post and will be highlighting the brilliant reviews that came in on 6th July for The Sentinel’s Alliance. As it’s the last part in the trilogy I was very nervous how the day would go, especially as 14 bloggers were reviewing, but I’m so happy to say the conclusion to the series was well received.

I’ve loved reading the reviews again and reminding myself that I really did achieve a whole trilogy. Not only that but a lot of people seemed to like it, some even loved it! That has made me very happy indeed.

blog banner

First a spotlight post from Satisfaction for insatiable readers.

Now the reviewers blog links and quotes…

Radzy Writes – ‘…this is a strong novel in an excellently written series, and one I enjoyed a lot. If you’ve fallen head over heels for this series so far, I think you’re going to devour this novel.’

Mai’s Musings – ‘…amongst her beautifully crafted world, Suzanne Rogerson has created a story that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, and I couldn’t read the book fast enough to answer all the questions forming in my mind.’

J Bronder Book Reviews – ‘This is a great conclusion to the series… I have really enjoyed this series and strongly recommend it to those that enjoy fantasy stories. There is a little bit of everything in these books. I can’t wait to read more from Suzanne Rogerson.’

K T Robson – ‘This has been a fantastic finale to the trilogy, it’s had everything that made the first two books to good and then some. All of Suzannes brilliant world building skills are still shining through… I have loved watching the characters grow and develop throughout this trilogy, and it was great seeing them band together for the final instalment.’

Seans book reviews – ‘The conclusion to this series was one of ups and downs.  The characters are still strong and ones that I will remember for a long time.’

Jessica Belmont – ‘I love this series, and I’m sad to see it end. I took longer to read this one, because I wasn’t ready to leave this world or these characters. I love Suzanne Rogerson’s writing. I can’t wait to read more from her. I highly recommend this series! You won’t want to miss it!’

The Treasure within – ‘This book was EVERYTHING I’d hoped it would be. I’ve loved the first two books of the series, and was very happy indeed with how everything worked out in this one. I’ve fallen in love with pretty much the entire cast of characters, and by now, want the best for all of them. That, I’d say, is a sign of a good bit of writing!’

Yes more blogs – ‘WOW!! Unbelievable. Amazing. Brilliant. Wonderful. Beautiful. Just a few words to describe not just this book but the whole trilogy has been an undeniably amazing read… The world building is some of the best I’ve read. With a little bit of your own imagination you are transformed into a beautiful magical world. That has it’s highs and lows like any good story. I’m usually quite good at where a book is headed but this has lots of surprises, twists and turns which had me up most nights as I had to know what was going to happen.’

Pagefarer book blog – ‘…her skill lies in intertwining separate storylines, and in writing truly dislikable (yet sometimes nuanced) bad guys – and vice versa. She is still not shy about killing off main characters – which I quite enjoy!’

Terror Tree – ‘As I was reading this story, I thought I knew where this story was going, but there were a few surprises that I did not see coming and I did spend time just sitting in amazement at what I had just read. This series has been a great read and I have enjoyed watching all the characters grow and adapt to whatever was thrown at them.’

In de Boekenkast Link to review on facebook – ‘What a captivating and lovely fantasy book! …This fantasy series is fast paced, amusing and original with a lot of unexpected situations, characters that grow with every book and an intriguing plot line.’

Novel Kicks – ‘The writing is relaxed and easy to read, the story is well paced and doesn’t dawdle; keeping you drawn through the book. The characters are likeable, if a little thin in places, but all in all they are well formed.’

Cheryl M-M Book Blog – ‘It’s fantasy with a compelling plot and intriguing characters. Rogerson threads an undercurrent of romance throughout the fantasy, which then invites readers of other genres in for a read.’

Odd Socks and Lollipops– ‘…I love the world that Suzanne Rogerson has created and I was so not ready to leave the characters behind. The Sentinel’s Alliance is a wonderful conclusion to the series…  The writing style was wonderfully immersive and the world building built on the earlier books brilliantly. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series and I cannot wait to read more from Suzanne. If you like epic fantasy stories, then I would definitely recommend the Silent Sea Chronicles, they are a fantastic example of the genre.’

Wow, I’m overwhelmed with these reviews and feel so honored these bloggers agreed to read and take part in the publication day push. I hope you’ve enjoyed these snippets and have had a chance to check the reviews in more detail.

A QUICK PLEA TO EVERYONE – If you have read any of my books would you consider putting a quick review on Amazon and Goodreads?

I plan to approach the libraries about stocking my books and would love to be able to show them how much people have enjoyed the trilogy. I’ve also entered the Amazon storyteller prize. I doubt a third book would get very far in the competition, but its always worth a try. Thanks very much.
