Wrap up post Pt 1 – The Sentinel’s Alliance Publication day push hosted by @rararesources #fantasy #newrelease

A bit later than planned, here’s part 1 of my wrap up post to highlight all the great blogs who helped me on the launch day of The Sentinel’s Alliance on 6th July.

There were quite a few people involved on the day reviewing, interviewing and posting promo posts so I decided to do 3 separate posts to make it easier to share the information and to thank the bloggers involved again.

Today I’m sharing the 3 interviews I took part in. If you haven’t seen them yet, please click the links.

The Magic of wor(L)ds – find out which character I would like to invite for tea and some of my writing rituals amongst other things.

A story about a girl – find out where my story idea originated for Silent Sea Chronicles and who I would love to play my characters in a film or tv adaptation.

B for bookreview – find out who I would love to co-write a book with and where I would love to travel to.

I still have lots of promo posts and reviews to share in other posts so look out for them.

And of course the whole trilogy is still on sale until the end of the weekend, so please consider taking a chance on the books whilst you can still pick up the whole trilogy for less than the cost of one book!

The Sentinel’s Alliance – Publication day #fantasy #epicfantasy #blogtour #newrelease

The day is finally here. After years of writing I can finally say I’ve completed and published a complete trilogy! I am very proud of these books and delighted with the response from readers and reviewers.

Today I’ve been busy selling books on a market stall in my local town centre – Staines upon Thames. It was an early start as we needed to arrive by 7am to get the pitch. We managed to bag a spot right outside Waterstones. It was an intense day and I met lots of interesting people and sold a few books. It’s always great to speak to readers in person and there’s no better feeling than signing a copy of your book and seeing the reader walk away happy with their purchase.

Thanks to Gareth Stevens and Laura Laakso for sharing the pitch.

Whilst I was busy on the market stall, reviewers and bloggers have been sharing the news that my latest book The Sentinel’s Alliance is out now.

You can still pick up your copy for only 99p but be warned, I will be putting the price up soon.

The Sentinel’s Alliance – Amazon universal link

The whole trilogy is still on sale for only 99p each worldwide. I won’t go on about it anymore today as you’re probably already fed up with all my recent posts about the book launch.

Instead I’m off to check out all the reviews and promo posts that have been happening today and I will be back tomorrow to share some of the highlights and thank all the bloggers involved. Keep an eye out on social media and I hope if you’ve pick up the books that you’ll enjoy them. Until tomorrow…

Mid year update #amwriting #amwritingfantasy #indieauthor

I haven’t been around on social media as much as I’d like as I’ve been juggling writing projects. I hope things will calm down once my latest book is released on 6th July. More about that in a moment.

What I’ve been doing…

I’ve tried a few new ventures. A craft bookstall at my local high street Staines-upon-Thames, where I met some nice people and managed to sell a few books too. A couple of people bought all three of my books, which was a great boost and made the day worthwhile.

DSC_3845

I shared the stall with G.J Stevens who writes Zombie thrillers. I’ve read his debut In The End and highly recommend it. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to share my review here at some point.

A week later, I joined forces with two authors G.J Stevens again and Katy Johnson who writes mystery thrillers and we ran a pop-up author shop in Eton high street. It wasn’t as successful as Staines, but again I met some interesting people and we hope to run the shop again in July on a couple of dates. More info will follow and I hope to get some more pictures the next time around.

I now feel more confidant with these type of events and have my public liability set up for a year, so I’m determined to make more use of it! Anyone know any local events we can crash?

Last week I went to Winchester Writers’ Festival and attended a fun workshop about fantasy writing run by Jasper Fforde. I also pitched a new novel idea to two agents and a publisher and received some encouraging feedback along with plenty of ideas to develop the novel. I highly recommend the day and want to thank @JunoGoldstone for showing me around and making the day less daunting.

Writing News

I’ve spent months editing and finalising Book 3 – The Sentinel’s Alliance. Now it’s just the last proofread to do before the big release day 6th July 2019! The pre-order is live, so why not make my day and pre-order a copy for only 99p worldwide.

On the 6th July, the release day for The Sentinel’s Alliance, Rachel will also be running a one day book blitz with 32 bloggers involved. More news to follow. It will be epic!

OTHER NEWS

And onto my other big news, the audiobook for Visions of Zarua is complete and is just going through the checks by ACX. I hope to have a link to share very soon. Any audio book reviewers who enjoy fantasy and want a free code, let me know and I’ll add you to the list.

I have another very interesting project in the pipeline and good news for all the residents of Staines-upon-Thames, I’ll be appearing in a pop-up craft shop in July. I’ll cover this in another post very soon.

That’s it for my latest news, so I’ll be back tomorrow with the start of the two book blog tour. Hope you can join us.

I’ll leave you with the trailer for the audiobook. Guy Barnes, the narrator, composed the music and produced this trailer. It’s brilliant, so please share.

The blurb

Can new alliances save the Silent Sea Islands from the murderers stalking their shores?

As the island of Kalaya and its people recover from civil war, a new threat surfaces. Invaders from the island of Elkena hunt the seas for magic users, determined to obliterate them. Their scar-faced captain seeks the Fire Mage and Tei and her people are in his warpath.

Tei and a band of Kalayans travel to Stone Haven, the home of their new allies, planning to restore magic to the dead island. But the Stone Haven Council have abhorred magic since their people were massacred by Elkenan invaders twenty years before. Commander Farrell must persuade his people to accept magic again, but his plans expose them to their biggest fear and he risks leading Tei and her people into danger, and jeopardising the safety of both their islands.

Under Farrell’s guidance treaties are forged, but is the newly formed Silent Sea Alliance enough to defeat the invaders and stop their bloodthirsty quest to destroy magic forever?

The Sentinel’s Alliance is the final book in the Silent Sea Chronicles trilogy.

The Sentinel’s Alliance is available for pre-order now. Only 99p.

If you can’t take part on the day but would still like to be involved, please contact me. ARC copies of all three books are available to reviewers. Book 3 available in June.

The new Sentinel’s reign is doomed to failure unless Tei can prevent the Kalayan people from plunging into war.

With the new Sentinel initiated and the magic restored on Kalaya, life is flourishing for Tei and the exiles. But Rathnor’s plans for war soon escalate and thwart any chance of peace.

Brogan’s position on the Assembly is uncertain as rumours circulate that he is an exile spy.

After an attempt on his life, Farrell is more determined than ever to build a home for his people on Stone Haven. But the council have their sights set on Kalaya and Farrell struggles to steer them from war.

As trouble brews within and outside forces gather against them, can the exiles keep their hold on the magic, or will this spell the end of Kalaya and its people?

The magical island of Kalaya is dying, along with its Sentinel. With the Kalayan people turning their back on magic, can Tei help the exiles find their new Sentinel before it’s too late?

Kalaya is controlled by the Assembly – set up to govern but now under the control of Rathnor, who is intent on persecuting those who have magic, many of whom have taken refuge in the Turrak Mountains.

Tei has been raised to hide her magic, until her father, Migil, is visited by an old friend who warns them that they must seek refuge in the mountains.

On the journey, an enemy attack leaves her father mortally wounded. He sees her into the care of two exiles, Rike and Garrick, and makes a shocking confession that changes Tei’s life.

Tei must put her trust in these strangers, especially when…
