I thought, hey, let’s give it a try. I pulled it up on Amazon. the preview says it costs 0.00. (!!) That can’t be right. Well, heck, that’s a good deal. So I click on it, like you do.
PREORDER IS .99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I deeply soul searched for about 4 seconds. I can handle a buck for a book. If we amortize out the words (estimate 80,000) it comes out to be about 800 words for a penny.

So I bought it.

Wait, pre order? It’s not live? WHY CAN’T WE HAVE IT NOW!!!???

  Thanks for taking a chance on my book, Matt. And when you look at it as a penny per 800 words, it certainly is a bargain! Only a few hours before it goes live too…

    Though, when you put it that way… consider the average author does maybe 2400 words a day at the upper end. That means they’re earning a thruppence. But wait…. multiply by 1000 books, and they’re making… er. $30 a day.
    
    We’re in the wrong profession, Suzanne.
