I haven’t taken part in #Thursdaydoors hosted on Norm’s site for ages. When I spotted these beautiful church doors on an Uptown tour of New York, I knew they were a perfect specimen to showcase.
I’m afraid I don’t remember the church name or exact location on the tour, maybe someone out there will recognise it? Here’s a few more shots to admire the craftsmanship of such a beautiful building.
This is my last photo post from my recent New York holiday. Here’s the links for the rest…

Check them out and let me know what you think.
Magnificent. I didn’t immediately think “New York” when I saw the pictures. But then I’ve never been. I have really enjoyed your Big Apple series. 😊

These are incredibly gorgeous, Suzanne! I love the architecture of these old churches! They are such formidable sights and the doors are such works of art. Reminds me of a certain passage in Eco’s Name of the Rose! 😊
And if I remember correctly… I think this might be St. John the Divine…
Thanks for sharing these beautiful images ❤️

Thank you. I’ve always liked churches too, but I’m not familiar with the saints.

Never met a church door I didn’t like, these are no exception! Your photos are beautiful, I especially like the second from last photo bisected by the leafless, winter tree. The layering here is so fantastic, really like it alot.

Thanks very much. It was a challenge getting any pictures on a moving bus so I’m really pleased with these shots. Love my cameraphone!

Beautiful choice Suzanne. I wanted to visit this one the last time we were there but we ran out of time. I`m 95% sure that it’s St. John the Divine. I’d love to visit the inside as well.

Not just the doors, but everything surrounding them is beautiful. Quite a find.
